Step into the early morning of the Peruvian Amazon region. As the first light touches a small pond hidden in the green, the rainforest slowly awakens: soft birdsong, the quiet hum of insects, and now and then the splash of a fish leaping from the still water.

Moments of Stillness captures the gentle side of the rainforest – calm, spacious and unhurried. Not silence, but the deep stillness only nature can create.

The story behind the sound

Gudrun Silvestre recorded these sounds from a small hut nestled in the reeds at the water’s edge. The original field recordings were carefully cleaned, edited and woven into one continuous soundscape that follows the natural flow of the morning, from dawn (5:23 am) to late morning.
